Nebraska Christian Schools

About NC

Founded in 1959, Nebraska Christian is a K-12, non-denominational, private, Christian School which embraces conservative evangelical principles. Our students represent a variety of denominations. They are taught traditional college prep curriculum from a Bible-centered philosophy. All students attend Bible classes each day and chapel one day a week. Senior high students may choose to participate in our extra-curricular activities which include band, choir, speech, football, boys and girls basketball, wrestling, volleyball, boys and girls track, and boys and girls cross country. More than 1000 students have graduated from Nebraska Christian.

Located on a 27 acre campus, the high school is one mile outside the city limits of Central City, NE (pop. 3000), 22 miles east of Grand Island, NE (pop. 43,000), and 110 miles west of Omaha, NE (pop. 400,000). Dorms are available for high school students. We are approved by the Nebraska Department of Education and are an ACSI (Association of Christian Schools International) member school. We are also a member of the Nebraska School Activities Association and the Goldenrod Conference. In 2004-2005, 178 students attended Nebraska Christian. The ratio of full-time teachers to students is 1:11. With an average of 7 students in each elementary grade and an average class size of 23 in the Jr./Sr. High School, Nebraska Christian Schools can easily accommodate additional students. Nebraska Christian admits students of any race, color, and national or ethnic origin.

Governed by a Board of Directors comprised of nine men who have been elected by and from our Advisory Council, Nebraska Christian Schools is financed through tuition and gift income.
